Located on the North Shore of Burrard Inlet in the Port of Vancouver, B.C., G3 Terminal Vancouver is the new standard for grain export facilities.

This new marine terminal provides world class unloading, processing, and shipping of agriculture products to markets around the world. G3 has a safety centric, positive, progressive culture, focused on developing individuals in a team environment.


Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, The Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, assigning, and ensuring required equipment maintenance and repairs are executed effectively and in accordance with quality, health and safety and environmental control standards.

The overall goal is to prevent unplanned equipment downtime and minimize costs associated with required maintenance and repairs by directing a team of skilled workers and contractors.


Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

  • Front line maintenance management and personnel supervision for hourly staff.
  • Maintain function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment through management of the preventive maintenance program.
  • Accomplish maintenance human resource objectives with hourly trades by training, assigning work, scheduling shifts, coaching, disciplining employees, communicating job expectations, planning, and managing performance while adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Uphold a high standard of professionalism to support world class safety, environmental stewardship, and facility reliability.
  • Play an integral role in managing contract service suppliers and interfacing with regulatory bodies.
  • Work directly with operations management to coordinate asset availability and downtime scheduling.
  • Detail corrective and preventative maintenance work orders for site assets within the computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Support senior leadership by providing annual budget information; monitoring R&M expenditures; seeking approvals; implementing corrective actions and reporting monthly or as required.
  • Entering purchasing requisitions as required.
  • Manage critical spare part inventory.
  • Foster continuous improvement by identifying, developing, and implementing changes that uphold safety, environment, and facility reliability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.
  • This position may require shift work to reflect the 24/7 nature of the marine terminal operational environment.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with G3TV Policies, legal codes and regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Millwright ITA Red Seal trade certification, Engineering Technologist or Engineer.
  • 810 years of applicable heavy industry supervisory experience.
  • 3+ years of experience planning work and supervising trades in a unionized environment.
  • Expertise in industrial process and bulk material handling systems. Grain terminal experience is an asset.
  • Experience in computerized maintenance management and purchasing systems.
  • Experience in maintaining rail yard infrastructure.
  • Specific experience in the following is an asset:
  • Belt conveyors, bucket elevators, drag conveyors, screw conveyors.
  • Pneumatic systems
  • Hydraulic Systems
  • Electrical infrastructure, automation, and control systems.
  • Fans and Air Handling Equipment
  • Structural steel and concrete
  • Fire detection and suppression systems operation and maintenance/inspection requirements
  • Proven track record of organization and quality work.
  • Excellent planning, problem solving, continuous improvement and conflict resolution skills.
