Position Summary:


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Help ensure that students are engaged in their studies and optimize the resources available to them.
  • Monitor student progression to ensure that students in academic jeopardy are identified and contacted. Work with teams and faculty to assist in improving grades of struggling students.
  • Generate low performance reports to identify students in academic risk, initiating contact to all students in these lists.
  • Place students on success plans, connect them with the tutoring center, and otherwise assist their academic progression.
  • Work closely with student representatives to ensure cohesive communication between the student success department and all students.
  • Processing of prearrival health insurance for students and dependents.
  • Assisting students with their insurance coverage and claims form submission, assisting with the online policy finder.
  • Providing onboarding support to international students.
  • Organize and attend student orientations and events.
  • Creating and distributing appreciation certificates to students in each semester.
  • Providing guidance and support to students experiencing problems accessing or obtaining information and services and refer to the appropriate service or program areas for resolution where appropriate.
  • Attending fairs and marketing events, visiting community centers, etc.
  • Lifting items up to 2 kg of weight may be occasionally required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite & Adobe Acrobat.
  • Proficient with Microsoft SharePoint & Canva.
  • User experience with Lantiv Scheduling Studio (an asset)

Additional Information

  • As a key member of the Student Services team the incumbent is responsible for consistently striving to sustain an organizational culture that understands the challenges and barriers to success that international students may encounter. Working in a college filled with diversity the incumbent must be prepared to demonstrate compassion, cultural understanding & sensitivity which directly contributes to student success.
  • Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Educational requirements and experience:


  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of a 2year related experience in a fastpaced working environment (preferably in an educational institution or equivalent).
