JOB SUMMARY:
You assist with the creation and maintenance of GIS databases for land use, employment and other key variables, and work independently or as a team member on a variety of research and projection GIS projects.
The project work deals with analyzing, compiling, organizing, interpreting and processing digital data to produce a variety of geographically related maps, graphic displays, projection models and reports.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Completion of 2 year community college course in Geographic Information Systems, Survey Mapping Technology, Computer Science or related field
Minimum of 4 years of experience
KNOWLEDGE:
- ArcView 8.1, Map database configuration
- Vision, MicroStation, and AutoCAD software
- Digital mapping methods and procedures
- Office automation software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Computer graphics workstations and peripherals
- Current GIS computer technology
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers.
