JOB SUMMARY:


Directly Operated Child Care Services is responsible for planning and managing the delivery and operations of Child Care programs and services delivered to the community through the Municipal Child Care Centres.


You are responsible for performing general housekeeping duties to maintain a high standard of hygiene in municipal child care centre while placing an emphasis on safety.

Work is performed in accordance with corporate, departmental and branch policies, procedures and guidelines, and the Early Years Act.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Completion of Grade 10

Minimum of 1 month of experience in institutional housekeeping


KNOWLEDGE:


  • Accepted Municipal sanitary practices
  • Ottawa Public Health requirements
  • WHIMIS (Workplace Hazardous Material Information System)
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Language Requirement: English oral, reading, writing
  • Valid First Aid/CPR
  • You may initially be paid 95% of your starting rate of pay, in accordance with the terms and conditions.
  • Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for stipulated academic requirements.
