Work Arrangements:
This is a hybrid role.

You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month.

You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.


The Opportunity:

Equitable is growing We're looking for a Graphic Design Specialist to join Corporate Marketing as a member of the brand conversion team.


This new team member will be responsible for the creative concepts and development of all materials in support of Equitable's rebrand.

What you will be doing:


  • Developing and implementing all aspects of the Equitable visual identity through the accessible graphic design of everything from forms and policy documents to marketing brochures.
  • Repairing and rehabilitating existing documents (primarily PDFs) to ensure they are compliant with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR)
  • Maintaining positive relationships with internal clients, ensuring their expectations regarding rebranding materials is met. This requires excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Negotiating solutions and take a strategic approach to graphic design to ensure the finished product is aligned with this can require offering alternate solutions to clients who have developed something a creative approach that is not effective, or not brand compliant.
  • Following schedules as dictated by the needs of the brand conversion project.
  • Providing graphic consultation and direction to the Corporate Services team

What you will bring:


  • 57 years experience in a Graphic Services, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Postsecondary diploma in Graphic Design or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), with experience on both Mac and PC platforms
  • Experienced in Accessible Graphic Design with high level of proficiency at creating accessible source documents and repairing issues in existing documents to meet the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR)
  • Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment and ability to provide creative options to address unique situations and projects.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent decision making and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent relationship building/client management skills.
  • Exceptional knowledge of design technology
  • An innovative thinker with the desire to constantly improve team's creative focus.
  • Knowledge of the printing process
  • Proper proofreading techniques, press approval procedures, colour correction skills
