Custom Fireplace Design 

Mechanical Design Technologist  

10/2022-Present –Burlington, ON  

  • Creating 3d models, drawings and renders of custom hearth fireplace and its components.
  • Attended project planning meetings to coordinate mechanical system designs, mitigate conflicts, and coordinate delivery timelines.
  • Designing actuators, dampers, valves, weldments, sheet metal components. 
  • Air flow, heat dissipation and pressure drop calculation using Mathcad and spreadsheets.
  • Burner assembly calculations, oil/gas pipeline calculations etc 
  • Determine the nature of the gas in fireplace using Solidworks flow simulation.
  • Reverse engineering of components/sub-assembly for in-house manufacturing. 
  • Structural analysis using ANSYS. 
  • 3-D printing auxiliary equipments.
  • Creating DXF files for CNC and Plasma cutting. 
  • Assist with in-house production to resolve manufacturing issues.  
  • Testing of fireplace like vibration, leakage etc as per ANSI Z21.50-2016 / CSA 2.22-2016. 
  • Making submittals for client approval, production package for manufacturing and manuals for assembly at the client’s location. 
  • Preparing BOM, cut list and list of bought out components.
