My name is Abhilash Vajinapally, and I hail from the southern part of India. I completed my bachelor's degree at Gitam University in 2016. Driven by an enthusiasm to expand my knowledge, I relocated to Canada in April 2018 to pursue my Master's degree at Dalhousie University, which I completed in 2019. Following my graduation, I seized an opportunity to join company called Clinical Logistics , where I served as an Devops Engineer for two years. During this time, l engaged extensively with various DevOps tools such as Git for Version Control Management, Maven for building, Jenkins for CI/CD, Docker for Containerization, and Kubernetes as an orchestration tool. Additionally, I worked with Terraform to oversee the infrastructure of diverse AWS cloud resources.

Subsequently, in 2022, I transitioned to NTT Data Services, working with Morgan Stanley as a Reliability and Performance Engineer. We use GitHub and Bitbucket as source code repositories, utilizing webhooks to trigger the Jenkins pipeline. The initial pipeline stage involves a Slack notification upon start, followed by source code checkout, Sonar quality gate checks, static code scans with Fortify or ShiftLeft, dynamic scans with Invicti or WebInspect, and subsequent code builds using Maven for Java, npm for Node and Angular, msbuild for .NET, or pybuild for Python. The resulting JAR or WAR artifacts are stored in a remote Nexus/JFrog Artifactory. Utilizing Docker, we create a Docker image from the JAR using a Dockerfile and push it to an AWS repository, specifically Amazon ECR. Deployment into EKS (Kubernetes) is facilitated through Helm charts and Spinnaker, with configured vertical and horizontal autoscaling via Helm charts. Applications within Kubernetes are exposed through an NGINX load balancer or a third-party gateway such as Kong Gateway. DNS configuration for these applications is managed using Route 53, drawing data from backend Database instances. Grafana dashboards are established on top of metrics scraped by Prometheus, integrated into Kubernetes, with Slack alerts configured for monitoring.
