Abigail Flynn

My name is Abigail Flynn. I am 15 years old and certified with my National Lifeguard and Standard First Aid with CPR C. I am registered for the instructor's course in October as there were no openings during summer. I am a grade 10 student at Westmount SS.

Competitive Swimmer, Golden Horseshoe Aquatic Club Hamilton, ON | Sep. 2021 - Present

Training with experienced coaches to set goals to continuously improve my performance, pushing limits to continue to grow as an athlete. Bringing positive energy to practice and determination to competitions. I encourage my teammates to push themselves to achieve their goals.

House Sitter, Local Families Hamilton, ON | June 2022 - March 2024

Communicating with homeowners via text upon arrival and departure. I demonstrated eagerness to work by arriving early or on time, showing dedication by often staying later than the full duration of my paid shift. Demonstrated trustworthiness by following written directions provided by the homeowners. I efficiently managed daily household tasks to maintain a clean and organized home.

Dog Sitter, Local Families Hamilton, ON | June 2023 - August 2023

Followed various families' care instructions carefully and provided them with updates of their dogs, in the form of photos and videos, to help ease any worries. To ensure full-day care was provided to the pets, I arrived early and stayed later than scheduled. Paid particular attention when exercising pets outside. I provided local families with affordable care for their pets.

Volunteering with Local Schools Hamilton, ON | September 2022 – June 2024

Volunteered with local schools to ensure the safety and organization of students while teachers were unavailable. I arrived on time each day, ensuring the teachers would have no need to worry about their students. I followed all verbal and written instructions I was given, making sure to complete all tasks.

I have strong communication abilities and have been part of a competitive swim club (GHAC) since 2021 which has resulted in my development as an excellent swimmer. In recent years, I have obtained my Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, Emergency First Aid, CPR B, Bronze Cross certifications, Standard First Aid with CPR – C, and National Lifeguard certifications. I am on track to complete my instructors in early October 2025.
