About Amanda Hopper:
I am a recent graduate from Olds College of Agriculture and Technology which I left with a diploma in Land and Water Resources with the major in Environmental Stewardship and Rural Planning which also makes me a Planning Technician as well. I am working on finding the next company that I would like to work for, I wish to expand further on my environmental testing knowledge as well as expand on my water knowledge or benthic knowledge. While I look for the right position though I am willing to work most any job, I have experience in many different areas from construction/electrical, to auto body, detailing, customer service and sales. I am a jack of all trades so to speak. My goal here is to either find that environmental job, or find a suitable other occupation that can keep me busy until I find that next step in my career.
Experience
- For my environmental experience I have done Detailed Site Assessments both in Alberta and Saskatchewan. I also did one phase one and many pre-DSA site visits so I am quite detail oriented.
- The previous summer was spent in an oil field Vegetation Management role where I made use of truck sprayers for lease spraying and backpack sprayers for reclamation spraying. I have not yet acquired my ticket but I do have the booklet for it.
- Prior to that I have been a server in both restaurants and bars, the most recent being Resolve in Blackfalds during the COVID years as well as McDonalds as a crew member.
- I worked at Co-op in Innisfail as a grocery clerk through my second year of college and as a Resident Assistant at Olds College through my first year.
- Even further back I have worked in two autobody shops as a detailer/prepper. I have lots of auto body detailing experience throughout my life.
- I was a blue booked apprentice electrician in 2015 and have experience working on a condo project in Red Deer.
- I am mechanically inclined and can do most any job that requires manual labour and working with your hands as I grew up on a farm and I have always enjoyed this type of work. I particularly enjoy wood working though I was never formally trained outside of shop class in school.
