Amanda Umbach

I am hard working, enthusiastic, and bubbly person who loves to help others! Great customer service is extremely important to me and I always treat others with the respect that I would like in return. Working in an environment where I can assist customers and be a team player is where I excel! I am looking for a work place where I can bring my many years of customer service experience and build long lasting relationships with my coworkers and clients. 

I have been working as Customer Experience Associate at Scotiabank for the past 2 years. In this role I have progressed quickly going from basic, everyday tasks to training new hires and handling escalations and difficult situations. I complete many clerical tasks such as scanning, handling customer phone calls and emails, faxing orders, and booking appointments. I am the balancing teller which entails all opening and closing duties, process incoming cash orders, loading and balancing ABMs, and posting night deposits. 

Before I started at Scotiabank I successfully operated my own Daycare in Ontario for 3 years. I managed all the financing of accounts for this business and budgeting of expenses. I handled all the interviews of enrolment and provided high quality care to children and parents every day. I loved this career and experience in my life, however due to covid we left Ontario to move to British Columbia which is where we now call home. 

Previous to my daycare experience I was employed at one of Canada's top mortgage companies, MCAP, for approximately 5 years. Starting as a customer service agent in their call centre department, I was quickly promoted to training new hires and being brought in as an Escalation Officer to help with upset customers or solving difficult problems.  

I have completed high school and have a diploma provided by The Academy of the New church, which is located in Pennsylvania, USA. I attended Bryn Athyn College, again located in Pennsylvania, where I completed 2 years towards a Bachelor Degree with an emphasis in Psychology and Early Education.
