On the other hand, a Cashier operates cash registers and facilitates customer transactions in a retail setting. They handle various forms of payment, offer excellent customer service, and ensure the accurate completion of purchases. Cashiers also verify item prices, bag items appropriately, and manage cash drawers.

While both roles require attention to detail and exceptional customer service skills, Pharmacy Assistants work in a healthcare setting, focusing on medication dispensing and healthcare product assistance. Cashiers, in contrast, operate in a retail environment, handling a wide range of products and providing customer service in a more general retail context. Both roles contribute to the overall satisfaction of customers but have distinct primary responsibilities and work environments.

A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) program equips students to become licensed pharmacists through four years of comprehensive education. Graduates:
