Anais Rezaigue

A recent graduate with an Honours Bachelor’s in International Development and Globalization from Canada, I bring hands-on experience in policy, community engagement, and strategic marketing & communication.

I have diverse experience in policy research, marketing, communications, and event coordination, with a strong focus on NGOs and international development.

• Communications & Research: As a Communications Assistant at the University of Ottawa (2024), I developed content strategies to translate complex research into accessible materials for diverse audiences. My role involved social media management, content creation, and engagement tracking. Additionally, I worked as a Research Assistant at the Latin America and Caribbean Observatory (2023), where I analyzed regional political and economic trends and drafted policy briefs.
• Policy & Government Affairs: As a Junior Policy Analyst at the Department of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness of Canada (2024) and a Legislative Assistant at the Senate of Canada (2023-2024), I conducted policy research, contributed to government briefings, and analyzed legislative initiatives, including amendments to the Criminal Code and policies affecting international students. These roles enhanced my ability to synthesize complex policy information, support decision-making processes, and engage in legislative research.
• Event Coordination & Leadership: As a Service Coordinator at the University of Ottawa Students’ Union (2022-2024), I successfully organized large-scale events, including embassy fairs and international screenings, while managing a $133K budget and leading a team of employees and volunteers. I also played a key role in launching initiatives like the Communal Fridge Program to promote student well-being.
• Advocacy & Volunteering: My involvement as a Youth Policymaker with the Ontario Council for International Cooperation (2023-2024) allowed me to develop policy recommendations related to gender equality and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). I also served as a Recording Secretary for the Canadian Union of Public Employees (2023), where I contributed to the development of a sexual harassment policy and participated in labor negotiations.

These experiences have strengthened my policy analysis, communications, and leadership skills, positioning me well for roles in public policy, international affairs, and government relations.

I hold an Honours Bachelor’s degree in International Development and Globalization from the University of Ottawa (2021-2024). During my studies, I participated in an exchange program at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, where I gained firsthand exposure to international policy frameworks and global governance issues. My academic background has equipped me with strong analytical skills, research capabilities, and a deep understanding of global economic, social, and political challenges. Additionally, my coursework has emphasized sustainable development, policy analysis, and international cooperation, aligning well with my career aspirations in policymaking and foreign affairs.
