Anastasia Mercier Mckenna

I’m a passionate and dedicated social worker with a strong commitment to improving the lives of individuals and communities. My professional journey has led me to work in diverse settings—from supporting women experiencing domestic violence to coordinating youth volunteer programs, and now serving as a nephrology social worker at The Ottawa Hospital. I bring empathy, organization, and a deep sense of purpose to every role I take on. Beyond my clinical work, I’m actively involved in community initiatives, advocacy, and education. I’m a passionate social worker with a strong background in healthcare, community support, and advocacy. Currently working in nephrology at The Ottawa Hospital, I support patients across multiple dialysis units and a glomerulonephritis clinic. My experience spans psychosocial home care, feminist intervention, youth program coordination, and teaching assistance. I’m deeply committed to empowering individuals, fostering inclusive communities, and driving meaningful change through empathy, collaboration, and action.

I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the Université du Québec en Outaouais. My academic background is complemented by specialized training in perinatal support, domestic violence, and sexual assault intervention. These studies have equipped me with a strong foundation in psychosocial care, advocacy, and community engagement.
