Arman Masoumi

Arman has newly passed Foundation Level Exam (Energy Advisor-House) successfully and recently graduated from the Energy Management Master's Degree program focused on high-performance, sustainable and green buildings. Thus, he delivered an investigation on Net-Zero Energy Ready Buildings development intended to reduce energy consumption up to 80% and building decarbonization to achieve Net-Zero Pathways in his thesis. All can be added to his background of education and work experience in Interior Architecture and Architectural Technology.

Building Envelope Solution (BLDG 0137) Course has been accomplished at BCIT, and Arman is currently developing his skills exhaustively and is practicing to pass Energy Advisor (House) Exam-EnerGuide Rating System exam and achieving Energy Management Certificate (Certified Energy Manager- EMIT- Energy Management In Training). Further, studying LEED GA (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design - Green Associate), Vancouver Building By-law (VBBL), Building Envelope Performance (BLDC 3050) and BC Building Code Courses (BLDC 1500) at BCIT are later priorities.

Arman has developed the understanding of how to enhance the energy performance of the building, and he learned the different approaches to reduce the TEDI number, such as advanced framing, reinforcing Effective R-Value, performing Heat Recovery Ventilators (HRVs) and Renewable Energy Systems. Furthermore, Arman learned the strategies to improve the envelope's energy performance, such as applying the correct air barrier system, especially around openings, and sealing the penetration and holes by proper sealant & caulking, leading to decreasing the ACH.

According to his interdisciplinary educational background and work experience, Arman is interested in buildings focused on high-energy performance, sustainable and green buildings, energy modelling, energy data analytics and passive design.

Mainly worked as Interior architect and superintendent, over two years working experience developed the building science, management and leadership skills, and involvement to execute CAD drawings, designing floor plans, elevations, cross-sections, and detailed drawing specifications.

Recently graduated from the Energy Management master's degree program focused on energy efficiency, energy conservation and building energy performance. Therefore, an investigation on Net-Zero Energy Ready Buildings development intended to reduce energy consumption up to 80% and building decarbonization to achieve Net-Zero Pathways has been accomplished.
