Hi there!

Thank you for stopping by :) My name is Awo, and I am a seasoned Mathematics tutor with over 3 years of experience teaching students in grade 2 and 6-11. My passion for tutoring stems from my desire to restore confidence and motivation in students that require extra assistance.

What sets my work apart from the average tutoring experience is that the sessions I provide for each student are unique to their learning needs and class curriculum. For the entire duration of my tutoring career, I've taken the time to prepare my own lesson material unique to each student along with homework if it is requested. Instead of solely focusing on learning gaps, I teach each mathematics unit from the beginning to end, guaranteeing that students will develop a better understanding of the material they are learning in school. To provide students with effective learning sessions, I utilize the screen sharing feature on Zoom to thoroughly go through each of my lessons that I wrap up with an abundance of practice problems.

My tutoring style has brought student grades to straight A's. Despite this being my occupation, the most rewarding part of being a tutor to me is the confidence and success my extra help can provide students with. It is such a gratifying feeling to witness students being able to grasp concepts they once struggled to understand, or request more session time with me as the tutoring has finally made the content interesting.

Just to add some important notes:

• I have never and will never charge for late cancellations; I understand that things in life may be out of our control, and my aim is to not make quality tutoring less accessible than it has to be.
• I typically accept last minute sessions, but it really depends on my schedule that given day as it often fluctuates.
• I allow break times in the middle of longer sessions (2.5+ hours), and do not charge extra for that time!
• My availability is during weekday evenings and all day on the weekends.
• If your child has special needs, please do not hesitate to reach out for assistance. I am more than happy to accommodate them :)
