Bernadette de Traversay

I am passionate towards building positive relationships between people and our natural environment.  Any chance I am given, I am eager to educate those willing to listen about Traditional Ecological Knowledge and practices that deserve to be credited and the reality of the state of our world under the context of climate change and various movements to clear up much of the misinformation spread regarding such heavy topics.

My background experience includes participating in harvesting medicinal herbs from the medicine wheel for elders, as well as identifying native species to plant and invasive species to manually remove through safe practice.  

Most of my job experience thus far includes valuing customer service first and foremost, and handling much of manual labour.  As such, I am not afraid to do hard work given this experience.

Having recently graduated Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor in Environment, I am actively searching for future career paths in my field.  As someone from the faculty of Resource and Environmental Management, I am interested in working in efforts towards reforestation, risk management, and improving Indigenous relations.
