Binita Ann Mathew

I am a first-year international student from India majoring in Bachelor of Environmental Science/Studies at Trent University. My career goal is to work in  Ecology Restoration. I am  a person who looks for opportunities that allow me to grow and learn new things not just academically and professionally but also personally   

I have worked as a Teacher's Assistant in my 11 and 12 high school. This position has allowed me to learn skills such as data entry such as marks and lab participation attendance. It has also allowed me to gain hands-on experience with computers, communication and leadership. I have volunteered as a community coordinator, thus coordinating students and helpers to rebuild an old age home. Currently, I work as a part-time crew member at McDonald, helping me to gain real customer service experience, handling cash and assigning and planning tasks to my fellow crew members. 

I finished high school at Mar Dionysius School in India. Here I got to learn how to be unique in my way. I was elected as the Vice Captain in my school, giving me a chance to show my leadership, decision-making, critical decision-making and problem-solving ability. I also got opportunities to volunteer in the community and other events. Currently, I am doing my major in Environmental Science and Studies. This major allows  me to explore the scientific aspects of understanding, evaluating and solving climate change.
