Buddhika Weerarasuriya

Hi, I am Buddhika Weerasuriya and I’m a postgraduate’s student currently pursuing a diploma in Business management at Lambton College. I graduated from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (Sri Lanka) with a degree in Accounting. Since then, I’ve been working in the field of textile and I have more than 15 years’ experience in accounting and management of business. I can proudly say that my strategies and decisions have helped to improve company profits and manage the cost efficiency. 

Throughout my career, I have effectively managed various financial aspects of the business, including account payable and account receivable functions. I have ensured timely processing and accurate recording of invoices, payments, and transactions while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. By implementing credit control measures, I have optimized cash flow and reduced outstanding receivables. Additionally, I have been responsible for preparing accurate financial statements and reports, implementing efficient inventory management systems, and mentoring and training staff members. My extensive experience in accounting and business management has equipped me with a diverse skill set to successfully oversee these financial functions and contribute to overall organizational success.

Pursued a postgraduate diploma in Business Management at Lambton College, where I have been actively engaged in studying various aspects of managing and leading businesses. The program has equipped me with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in the dynamic field of business management.

Prior to postgraduate studies, I have completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in Sri Lanka. During undergraduate studies, I have gained a solid foundation in accounting principles, financial management, and other related subjects. This educational background has provided with a strong understanding of financial practices and principles, which I have successfully applied in my professional career.

Combining postgraduate diploma in Business Management and Bachelor's degree in Accounting, I have developed a comprehensive skill set that spans both the managerial and financial aspects of business operations. This diverse educational background enables me to approach business challenges from multiple perspectives and make well-informed decisions.
