Caleb Fung

My name is Caleb, and I am thrilled to be applying for the food & beverages attendant here at Delta Whistler Village Suites. My wife & I recently moved to Vancouver a few weeks ago with the ultimate plan to be working near a ski village during the winter season. Back home in Australia, I’m a registered physiotherapist and have a background in Masters of Physiotherapy (2018) and Bachelor of Exercise Science (2016).  

It has always been a dream of mine to be able to travel to Canada and work here in Whistler. Coming from Australia, I’ve heard so many great things about Whistler Blackcomb, especially how ‘at home’ I will feel as they also call it ‘Whistralia’! I firmly believe my easy-going nature, strong rapport skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment makes me a perfect fit for your team. 

Although primarily having a strong health background, I believe my unique experience and set of skills would fit comfortably for this role. Specifically, my experience working at multiple physiotherapy locations, I am familiar following similar policies and procedures and maintaining confidentiality. I am also experienced with welcoming and anticipating guests service needs, especially those with disabilities and or impaired mobility as I treated patients in the hospital and rehab setting daily. The nature of a physiotherapist also includes clear communication and liaising with other team-members, which I believe fits perfectly for the role description requiring professionalism. I am also extremely familiar with standing and walking for extended periods as well as paying careful attention to detail as this is imperative in my line of work.

I am particularly drawn to the company’s foundational principles and values in beginning, belonging and becoming. These also resonate with my own values, and I am passionate about joining a team of like-minded peers.

Being an Australian-born Chinese, I am fluent in English but can also speak Mandarin & Cantonese at a satisfactory level and as a result possess excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling me to build strong rapport with guests and clients.
