About Camroy Thorpe:

I am an Electrical Engineering student with a keen interest in Power Systems and Embedded systems.  I recently returned to school as I believe that it will enable me to develop professionally and academically.  In addition, I have experience as an electronics technician which allowed me to put several of the theoretical concepts learned over the years into practice.  This includes but is not limited to:

Experience

Production, Manufacturing and Service Technician at Berlet Electronics

Became intimately familiar with supported products (primarily Industrial Radio Remote Control and Laser Collision Avoidance Equipment)

Diagnosed and repaired any incoming defective products. 

 Tested and calibrated new and existing equipment to manufacturers’ specifications. 

 Completed test checklists and shop repair reports. 

Assembled, configured and, adjusted new equipment according to blueprints and schematics

Electronics Bench Technician at Panasonic Canada

Received damaged and defective units from customers and carried out electronic POS transactions to handle payments 

Prepared and packed thousands of Lithium-Ion batteries to replace recalled units 

Assembled bar code readers to be installed on the CF20 model of Toughbook computers 

Kept stock-level inventory of electronic and mechanical parts received and transferred to and from the commercial service department 

 Completed data entry for the battery shipments

Electronics Lab Technician at Sheridan College

Used AutoCAD to revise chassis layout for first year projects and created a chassis for experimental apparatus

Signed out electronic parts and equipment for short term loans 

Worked closely with professor to create experimental apparatus
