About Carolyn Laroche:
I bring over 24 years of experience in education marked by strong leadership, instructional excellence, and a deep commitment to collaborative professional growth. Throughout my career, I have consistently pursued ongoing learning and fostered a culture of inquiry both in my classroom and within staff learning communities.
My teaching philosophy is grounded in the principles of inclusion, equity, and student-centered learning. I am deeply committed to honoring student identity and voice in all aspects of the learning process. I strive to co-create classroom and professional spaces that are empowering for all learners.
Experience
I am an experienced Ontario-certified educator with over 25 years of teaching English, History, and Social Sciences at the secondary level. I specialize in creating inclusive, engaging, and inquiry-based learning environments for diverse learners, including ESL and international students, both in-person and online.
Currently, I serve as the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Coordinator and Global Studies teacher. In this role, I assess student learning, provide individualized feedback to improve student learning outcomes, and lead cross-departmental collaboration to enhance instructional practice. I am a recognized leader in digital pedagogy, student-centered assessment, and culturally responsive teaching. I am passionate about fostering academic growth and confidence in every learner.
