I have many years experience working in office, customer service and medical offices.  I am looking for something in the health field preferably, but anything in administration or customer service would be suitable.

Experience

Medical Office Administration                                                   June 13, 2018 – July 28, 2018

The Doctors Walk-in Medical Clinic, London ON

Registered new and existing patients using an older version of Envision.  Created new files, pulled existing patient files, had patients complete a general health information sheet, printed a patient visit sheet to record why they were there and the doctor’s notes for billing.  We called in all health cards to verify validity, as we did not have a card reader.  Answered phone calls.

  • Take patients to exam rooms for the doctors; record in files what they are there to see doctor about. Handled weights, heights, ear temperatures, urine samples (recorded in files), blood pressure using automatic machine, and eye exams for driver’s physicals. Make sure all rooms are kept clean between patients and stocked up as needed.
  • Prepared urine and other samples to go to lab.
  • Billing and filing.  Assisting doctors with female exams; following protocol to clean the instruments for next use. Handled cash and created receipts. Temperature check on the medicine fridge and daily count of the medications.

Client Service Representative                                June 2011 - July 2012 (call centre closure)

VON Canada, Central Region Client Centre, London, ON 

National, not-for-profit, charitable home and community healthcare organization.

  • Fielded client/staff inquiries; cancelled/rescheduled visits; forwarded clients medical issues to resident nurse; provided staff schedules; transferred calls to planners; dealt with complaints and followed protocol.
  • Entered client information into scheduling system database (Procura); updated existing client records; dated notes for every client inquiry.

  • Prepared examination room, compiled initial patient’s information and handled laboratory specimens for testing. 
  • Processed OHIP billing into provincial healthcare system records database. 
  • Received requisitions, tests and referrals, highlighted for assigned action required, presented to physician and filed.

  • Minimized bank losses by daily review of mortgage arrears report and applied full and partial payments from client’s accounts to delinquent mortgages. 
  • Provided administrative support for both internal officers and branches by processing numerous payments, discharges, advances and other transactions regarding mortgages and loans. (during busy summer months, processed up to 1,000 transactions in a single day).
  • Ensured accurate and up-to-date bank records by balancing clearings and draft accounts on a daily basis.
