Christie Sherman

I have strong communicative and motivational skills with a true passion for customer service, team work and learning new skills. I'm an energetic, dependable person who is great at time management. I am able to handle multiple tasks on a daily basis and I use a creative approach to problem solving. I have experience working as part of a team and individually as well as a supervisor, team leader and assistant manager in retail. I've always been very supporting and caring individual and even though I take my work seriously, I do have a good sense of humor.

I have worked as a team leader/supervisor/acting manager at ‘the Beer Store’ for three years. Within the first month after my probation period I was moved to a part-time team leader and took control of opening and closing procedures, assisting other part-timers. Once I was moved up to a supervisor position I was given the opportunity to become a full-timer with key, safe and machine responsibilities. After a few months we lost our store manager and my co-worker and I took over the role together as co-acting managers. We kept the store efficient, clean, stocked and amazing teamwork and support while keeping the company in great financial, physical, lost prevention and more standards. 

After a while we got a fulI-time store manager and I decided to move onto another position as an assistant manager at the retail store ‘Lucky Brand Jeans’. I was assistant manager but again, acting store manager because the previous one had left the location and had given me the responsibilities to run the store, train, hire and supervise the team as well as running all the shipments, paperwork, stats and procedures needed to keep the store in tact.

In 2012 I graduated from middle school and went to Northview Heights Secondary School for a gifted art program Cyber Arts and ended up graduation as an Ontario Scholar before going to Humber College for Media Foundations program where I gained a variety of skills and all around knowledge of arts. I graduated with a certificate in 2016 and from then have been working towards finding a suitable job as a manager in a retail location where I could maybe even involve my education I gained from schooling for advertising, promoting or supporting the company.
