Daniel Odame Kodua

My name is Daniel Odame Kodua, and I am a dedicated communication specialist with over a decade of experience in journalism, broadcasting, and program management. I am pursuing a Master's degree in Organizational Communication at the University of Ottawa, which has further enriched my understanding of effective communication strategies within organizational settings.

My professional journey began in Kumasi, Ghana, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies with a focus on Journalism from Christian Service University College. I also hold a College Diploma in Media Studies from the College of Media Studies in Kumasi. This academic foundation laid the groundwork for my career in media, where I have consistently demonstrated my ability to produce high-quality content, manage teams, and engage diverse audiences.

I have held various roles throughout my career that have equipped me with a versatile skill set. As a News Anchor and Reporter at PAG Media, I honed my news reporting, scriptwriting, and content creation skills. As Branch Manager at Royal Image Broadcasting Limited, my role allowed me to develop strong leadership capabilities, overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. In these positions, I successfully delivered compelling news stories, conducted in-depth interviews, and maintained crucial community contacts.

In addition to my media experience, I have worked in customer service and retail roles, such as my current position as a Night Freight Associate at Home Depot Canada and my previous role as a Dairy/Frozen Associate at Walmart Canada. These positions have enhanced my adaptability, time management, and customer service skills, demonstrating my ability to thrive in fast-paced and dynamic environments.

My core competencies include exceptional verbal and written communication, video production, content development, research and analytical skills, and public speaking. I am proficient in utilizing various media platforms to deliver engaging stories and enhance public relations. My leadership experience encompasses recruiting, training, supervising staff, and developing and implementing strategies to achieve organizational goals.

I am passionate about the power of effective communication and its impact on public discourse. My career has been driven by a commitment to journalistic excellence and a desire to inform and engage audiences with accurate and insightful news coverage. As I continue to grow in my career, I am eager to bring my diverse skills and expertise to new challenges and opportunities.

In my personal life, I am a Ghanaian international student in Canada, and I am actively involved in my community as the Organizing Secretary for the Ottawa Ghana Students Association. I am dedicated to fostering cultural awareness and community engagement through various initiatives.
