About Darren Gao:

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with co-op at the University of Western Ontario. A general member of Sunstang Project, a solar powered car project that designs, builds and tests a solar car at international competitions. International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme graduate. Interested in computer and electronics hardware and software with intermediate proficiency in Java.

Experience

Other past employment includes soccer coaching and ski instruction.

Employed at the Ottawa International Soccer Club as a coach for pre-competitive and development programs for kids and youth in the summer of 2022. Worked with children aged around 7-12 in teaching soccer fundamentals.

Worked as a ski instructor at Camp Fortune during the winter season of 2019, instructing various age groups of kids at different skill levels.

Education

Enrolled at the University of Western Ontario, in the second year of a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Taken courses on Java, engineering design method, circuits, calculus. Previously competed in case competitions run by DECA Ontario and the Ivey Business school.
