Occupational Therapy Student at the University of Toronto. I'm passionate about empowering others to reach their functional potential. I have prior experience in pediatrics and vocational education, thus developing a deep understanding of client-centered care and inclusivity within healthcare practice. 

Clinical experiences: Fieldwork Placement as a Student Occupational Therapist - Markham Stouffville Hospital (Current) and Providence Healthcare

• Assist and learn from occupational therapist the best practices regarding documentation, assessment and treatment planning. This role has allowed me to develop my documentation skills, time-management and critical thinking needed to manage patient caseload in a fast-paced environment.  

Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Volunteer 

• Fostered active client participation in job opportunities, social group building, and structured classroom-style learning experiences within the VolunteerABLE program, with a specific focus on individuals with Autism
• Taught clients with Autism aged 14-21 life skills for employment using student-centred learning strategies such as modified instructions and visual scribing; increasing effective skill learning acquisition 
• Encouraged children aged 6-14 with hemiplegia to use their affected limb during leisure and self-care, resulting in goal achievement for increased upper limb flexibility and mobility
• Organized and aided with the preparation of various art and sports events within the hospital, streamlining the smooth delivery of program activities

• Collaborated with 200+ texters to identify goals, problem-solve, and explore resources and coping mechanisms, resulting in increased texter autonomy and occupational engagement 
• Deescalated multiple high-intensity conversations for individuals experiencing a crisis 
• Developed excellent stress management and resilience when undertaking multiple emotionally competing demands and conversations

Form & Function: Health, Performance, Wellness Centre Clinical Intern 

• Administered ultrasound, interferential current, Russian stimulations, and low-level laser therapy on clients to provide pain relief 
• Fostered strong relationships with patients, enabling them to feel comfortable while going through rehabilitation injuries

I am entering my second year starting September for the Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy (Expected 2025) at the University of Toronto.
