Duration : Feb 2018 to Feb 2022.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

• Prepare conceptual design for powerpack module (engine installation CAT HMS 6040,6020& 6015).

• Review & design hose routing for various modules like oil interval extension system, hydraulic tank, engine drain system, engine heater circuit for cold weather package etc.,

• Conceptual design for engine intake air duct which meets engine air flow rate requirement and validation of design with respect to CFD analysis report.

• Developing sheet metal weldments for mounting structures, powerpack base weldment structures, guard assemblies, supporting brackets design.

• Air ducting design for exhaust assembly CAT C32 Tier-4 aftertreatment unit and its Tier-3 variant.

• Prepare machine layouts & review layouts interface. Interact with internal & external stakeholders for procurement of prototype parts, vehicle build, testing & evaluation.

• Generate engineering drawing as per caterpillar standards and release the drawing for manufacturing.

• Creation of change notice with reference to issues raised on the machine build / field issues and addressing them adherence caterpillar standards.

• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate critical input into designs – integrate the interpretation of structural and flow analyses, DFMEA implementation, manufacturing input into all designs

• Drafting EBOM and MBOM in detail, formulating fitment wise BOM for proto build & pre-production build.

• Tear down analysis to address/ avoid machine build issues.

• Creation of rework procedure for retrofit design implements.

Atlantis Lab Pvt. Ltd.

Designation : Senior Design Engineer

Client location : Epiroc (Formerly Atlas Copco), Bangalore (India)

 Duration : April 2011 to Feb 2018

Roles & Responsibilities: 

• Various engines (MTU OM502 tier-3, Cummins QSX15 tier3 and tier4,) compatibility with machine layout and to create analysis report based on feasibility check.

• Preparing conceptual design for complete power pack base, which include design of powerpack skid frame weldment design, mounting bracket designs, piping for coolers (RAD and CAC).

• Clutch installation, flywheel selection (based on options available from engine manufactures) 

• Compressor module -compressor installation, COC piping installation, intake ducting design & Receiver tank installation. • Selection of air filters based on engine requirement and machine layout packing feasibility.

• Part of core deign reviewer team to address machine build issue.

• Documentation of BOM for the assemblies to complete the PCO to release.

• Completing the changes as per the EWO (engineering work order) by making necessary revisions to the drawings with ECN (Engineering Change Number) while adhering to Epiroc engineering change process & Standards.

• Guide technical Illustration Team for Creating product manuals • Develop manufacturing and assembly strategy through sub-assembly organization – Identified opportunities for improvement in ease of assembly in production and prototype models

• Worked as a single point of contact for design and drawings in multiple projects– Led teams and worked individually to support design activities and drawing preparation

• Conducted cross-functional reviews with global stakeholders to assess design and drawings – conducted reviews and supported other reviews, providing design input

• Worked with manufacturing team and suppliers directly to incorporate best Design practices into early stages of design. 

• Being a single point contact with the suppliers and assembly team to meet the deliverables
