Elisabeth von Schoenberg

I am a 3rd year Mechanical engineering student at Concordia University, with over 2 years of diverse engineering experience, seeking an engineering internship position starting May 2023.                            

I am a goal-oriented and creative problem-solver who thrives in group environments. My diverse engineering experiences have allowed me to apply my proficiency in Solidworks, AutoCAD, MATLAB, C++, and electronic design to industry level engineering projects. Currently, I work as a teaching assistant for the electronics lab at Concordia University, which has given me the opportunity to specialise in electronics while coming into a leadership role. I have accumulated over 300 hours of hands-on engineering design, testing, and manufacturing experience as a member of SAE Concordia Baja Racing, a student all-terrain vehicle design team. I enjoy project management and possess advanced knowledge MS Teams, Excel, Word, and MS Projects. I owe my success in these roles to my strong bilingual communication skills (EN/FR), meticulous attention to detail, and leadership abilities.

1. Electronics Lab Teaching Assistant - Concordia University       (Jan 2023 – present)      

• Lab teaching assistant for Dr. Sorin Voiculescu, “Electronics for Mechanical Engineers”
• Responsible for preparing, demonstrating, and grading labs for undergraduate students

 2. Mechanical Designer - Concordia SAE Baja Racing         (2022 – present) 

• 300+ hours of design, testing, and manufacturing experience on an all-terrain vehicle design team
• Designed parts in SolidWorks using DFM/DFA principles for the electrical, suspension and DAQ sub-systems
• Manufactured prototype and working models adhering to GD&T standards via machining, CNC, & 3D printing
• Documented 50+ hours of testing and race performance data, used to improve future designs iterations
• Met with various sponsors globally and accumulated over $5000 in sponsorships for CANBUS and serial sensors
• Drafted a BOM of 150+ fasteners currently used on the vehicle (metric and imperial)

3. Project Manager - BRU – Product Design Project       (Sep – Dec 2022)

• Designed a functional modular French press with an integrated coffee grinder in SolidWorks
• Led 5 engineers through 13-week product design process from conception to production while completing market analysis, CAD designing, risk analysis, cost analysis, functional analysis
• Contacted suppliers and manufacturers in China and Mexico to negotiate manufacturing costs resulting in a 64% cost reduction compared to North American manufacturers
• Optimized DFM/DFA processes through design and material selection, significantly reducing manufacturing costs

4. Bartender - Terrasse Ciel Rose, Montreal, QC           (March 2022 – Nov 2023)

• Principal bartender for an upscale terrasse and club downtown Montreal
• Worked 12+ hour shifts in a fast paced, high intensity environment, serving all clients at the bar
