Elliot Cotterill

After spending the last year and a half working a range of outdoor seasonal roles, I am now looking to gear the experience I have gained through work and education towards a professional role working in the field.

I spent six months working for a local government organisation with a primary focus on data retrieval, analysis, and visualisation. I supported a project focusing on decarbonising local industry, with work often involving the use of QGIS and MS Excel.

• Dissertation title: Community Energy under the Smart Export Guarantee: An assessment of the potential business models community energy groups may use in the new subsidy context
• EIA group project required our team of six to survey a plot of land, plan a development for the site based on research of the local area, and then write a preliminary EIA report for the development.

Cardiff University - BSc Geology (2:1)

SEP 2016 - JULY 2019

• Accredited by the Geological Society
• Individual geological mapping project undertaken in Snowdonia in the summer of 2018 formed the basis of a dissertation
• Wrote a range of technical and scientific reports for different intended audiences
