Lead Fixed Equipment Reliability/Integrity Engineer
CHEVRON CORPORATION, ESCRAVOS, NIGERIA
- Reviewing fixed equipment inspection reports and developing repair plans for implementation to ensure fixed equipment assets do not pose process safety risks whilst in operations.
- Championing the development and implementation of engineering solutions for chronic and sporadic Escravos Gas to Liquid (EGTL) plant reliability issues to maintain plant up time at above 90%.
- Managing critical fixed equipment assets to prevent process safety incidents and improve the overall reliability of the EGTL plant. Achieved over 95% of 2023 safety metrics.
- Managing Integrity Data Management System (IDMS) to ensure all inspection reports are reviewed and recorded in the database according to requirements. The database is always 100% up to date.
- Led teams of contract personnel and collaborated with operations, process engineering, maintenance, and other stakeholders to complete the development of work packages for the open, clean, and inspect (OCI) activities during the 2023 EGTL turnaround maintenance. Completed the turnaround without any incident and with minimal re-work.
Lead Asset Integrity Engineer
CHEVRON CORPORATION, LEKKI, NIGERIA
- Obtained the approval of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) to use Risk-based Inspection (RBI) for the integrity management program for the Agbami Floating Production Storage & Offloading (FPSO).
- Developed yearly inspection plans for fixed equipment assets (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, piping, structures, etc) and secured the resources such as budgets, contracts, and equipment to execute the plan with over 95% yearly inspection performance.
- Conducted Fitness-for-service assessments to determine the effect of flaws on the integrity of equipment. Used the result to avert loss profit opportunities (LPO).
- Utilized unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) for the first time to achieve 100% visual inspection of the entire FPSO in about 30 days and reduced inspection cost by 90%, in addition to improved safety, coverage, and quality of inspection reports.
- Managed third-party inspection companies with over 80 inspection personnel to perform all compliance and due inspections and constantly maintained over 95% performance for over 4 years.
Lead Corrosion Engineer
CHEVRON CORPORATION, ESCRAVOS, NIGERIA
- Developed corrosion management manuals for the business unit and established a corrosion team to manage coating, external, and internal corrosion programs to mitigate the rapid deterioration of aging fixed equipment assets.
- Completed the survey of all Chevron NMA offshore and onshore facilities to identify areas of corrosion concerns. Completed the design and construction of 13 deep-well cathodic protection ground beds to protect over 100km of pipelines and installed anode sleds to protect over 30 offshore structures.
Corrosion Engineer

- Assessed existing fixed equipment corrosion management program and re-structured the program by separating coating, cathodic protection, and internal corrosion programs. Corrosion management programs became more effective and efficient.
- Evaluated all cathodic protection systems across the business unit and upgraded dilapidated and outdated systems to bring them back on-stream. Restored cathodic protection systems for several tanks in the business unit.
- Recruited contractors to execute external and internal corrosion work scopes. Completed all yearly planned cathodic protection systems surveys.
