Evan Schultz

I have been fortunate enough to work alongside some amazing people throughout my career. Starting my employment as a filer at a Dental office in my hometown, and later becoming a lifeguard at an indoor waterpark, both jobs have helped me prepare to become a well-rounded person and professional. In addition, these jobs helped me prepare for my summer internship at BDO Canada LLP, where I had the opportunity to grow as a person and learn more about accounting before I finish my Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Alberta. 

Originally from Red Deer, Canada, I was fortunate enough to play many sports growing up - lacrosse, volleyball, basketball, and golf. I utilize many of the skills I learned from my athletic career now everyday as I continue to enjoy working in high-performing team environments. During the fall of 2019, I was the head coach of a grade nine men's volleyball team and had the opportunity to translate my skills as a player into a mentor for the next generation. More recently, I have joined the World University Services of Canada volunteer team in Edmonton and their mission to provide Refugees with post-secondary education. As the Committee Financial Officer, I am able to apply my degree to relevant volunteer experience. Similarly, I have been fulfilling the role of Treasurer for the Circle K International club as we promote volunteer work within the Edmonton community and raise funds to provide clean drinking water in developing countries. 

Although I am no longer playing any competitive sports, I still enjoy living an active lifestyle - regularly working out, playing golf and hiking.

I have enjoyed my experiences thus far, and I am ecstatic to see where the word of business and economics will take me next!
