About Farah Mohammed:

I am a person with disabilities and am neurodiverse. When faced with severe hearing loss, I adapted ways to accommodate my communication needs to not let it hinder my working conditions, this is a personal example of how quickly I can react to resolve a workplace challenge.

I have demonstrated experience to be a highly capable multitasker, a project manager, and a great relationship manager able to collaborate effortlessly with both internal and external stakeholders. I am an effective communicator often receiving praise for my writing, presentation and organization styles.

*Project Management Skills*: Demonstrated the ability to evaluate directions, trends, and policies using multiple sources of information to develop options and make recommendations. Adept to lead and coordinate projects and administer project budgets. I am currently studying for the Project management professional (PMP) certificate and have successfully completed related Project Management courses from Toronto Metropolitan University.

I am capable of utilizing my skills to the maximum potential and have utmost confidence in my abilities to successfully deliver results and meet milestones. I help new immigrant families who have children with disabilities, by connecting them to resources within the community, apply for the disability tax credit on their behalf & be their spokesperson in liaising with other useful stakeholders, all the while displaying good judgement regarding applicable provincial disability laws and policies (AODA). I develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers and senior leaders at various levels of the enterprise-wide centers in order to discuss and address issues related to project requirements as they arise.

Experience

I manage part of the CVVRS (Canadian Veterans Vocational Rehabilitation Services) program at March of Dimes Canada (MODC) as a Program Manager, providing support effectively to various components of the CVVRS Program to ensure minimum financial risk, adherence to contract requirements, providing service delivery needs in alignment with corporate plan and maintain all security requirements utilizing my security B clearance to maintain topmost confidentiality. I am involved in the services involving the planning, development, delivery or management of policies, programs, services, or other activities in different fields, such as finance, human resources, invoicing and purchasing; dealing with the management of property assets and facilities, reconciliation of budgets, information holdings or security services; in support of the Public Service; the research, analysis, and provision of advice on employee HR issues to managers and employees. Using my research and organizational skills, I regularly provide statistical analysis and input to support program evaluation and development as well as providing input and participate in discussion with respect to budget planning.

Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in my role as a Local Area Administrator and Applications Developer (CIBC), I have coordinated involvement of personnel from other departments and information technology groups to facilitate successful project implementations or process improvements. I have organized cross-departmental discussions in support of the action planning process and conducted routine department-wide team meetings to gauge program office performances against stated action items; organized ‘best practice’ forums with other departments which supported and encouraged program office collaboration.

Project Management Skills: I have proven my abilities as a project manager, further, my critical thinking combined with my leadership skills have allowed me to develop strategic communications products successfully. I demonstrate the ability to research and evaluate economic or sociological implications of projects, programs and policies, directions, and trends using multiple sources of information to develop options and make recommendations enthusiastically while increasing relationship building with staff and management. I will be obtaining my Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate this summer once I pass my exam that is related to my Project Management courses that I completed successfully at Toronto Metropolitan University. My proven conflict-resolution skills, excellent presentation skills and my ease communicating with large, diverse groups, allow me to excel as a Project Coordinator where I meet with clients, maintain, and establish a strong linkage with various inter-departmental teams, key stakeholders, create weekly status reports, perform quality control activities, prepare project schedules, take part in risk and procurement plans - all for a successful completion of various projects which I routinely surpass beyond expectations.
