Fazileh Dadvar

Currently, I am working in Urban Economy Forum (UEF) UN-Habitat based in Canada since 2019; I hold the position of the Secretariat of the Academic platform in this Initiative in this position I am working on expanding dialogue on Sustainable Urban Development and implementation of SDGs, particularly SDG11 which means to make cities, resilient, inclusive and sustainable. Also, I coordinate various conferences, workshops, and events in collaboration with ministers, mayors, members of Parliament, presidents of Universities, and CEOs, from Canada and all over the world. Also, I do research and prepare concept notes and proposals, and other content for different projects and programs mostly on housing, local community empowerment, and other urban development projects.

 At the same time, I am leading the capacity building and partnership at the World Urban Pavilion, at the Regent Park in collaboration with UN-Habitat, powered by Daniels. In this position, I am working on various projects such as organizing different meetings, promoting membership and sponsorship, working with Regent Park Community, evaluating pilot projects, mostly on urban issues, neighborhoods, and housing, and working with mayors of cities and municipalities in Canada and around the world in order to extend dialogues and exchange knowledge on Sustainable Urban Development and implementing of the SDG11.     

Before moving to Canada, I had an academic career as a professor at the University Of Tehran, Iran, until 2019.  I also affiliate with York University, as a visiting scholar from 2015 to 2019 at the Faculty of Environmental Studies, and from 2020 until the present, I am affiliated with the Center for Feminist Research (CFR) at the same university.
