After my extensive time spent at Ferris State University working towards my bachelor’s in computer science and technology (pending certifications), I am enthusiastic and eager to kickstart my career in the dynamic field of information technology. My educational background, along with my passion for technology, has equipped me with a strong foundation and a thirst for learning in this ever-evolving industry.

During my academic journey, I gained hands-on experience in various aspects of IT, including:

• Network Fundamentals: I have a solid grasp of network concepts, including protocols, routing, and network security. My coursework and lab exercises have allowed me to configure and troubleshoot basic network setups.
• Operating Systems: I am familiar with Windows and Linux operating systems, having completed practical assignments involving system administration tasks and basic scripting.
• Cybersecurity Awareness: I understand the importance of cybersecurity and have completed coursework on best practices and risk mitigation. I am eager to contribute to securing digital environments.
• Team Collaboration: Throughout my college experience, I actively participated in group projects, developing strong communication and collaboration skills. I am a quick learner and adapt well to new challenges.

I am eager to apply my educational background and enthusiasm for IT to make a meaningful impact in an entry-level role. I am committed to continuous learning and professional development, including obtaining relevant certifications in the future.

I spent 8 years working in the University's IT department while taking classes. I started as a Tier 1 Support specialist after 1 day of training with just phone/chat/email support and grew into a role of Tier 4 Support specialist supporting the walk-in front desk and going out to offices/classrooms to support tech issues. I also took it upon myself to learn the backend of our ticketing software (Cherwell) to help fellow employees increase productivity while logging calls.

During my 8 years at the University I was taking classes for Computer Information and Technology as well as working for their IT department. I realize 8 years is a long time for a 4 year degree, however 2 years into a Networking Science degree I did switch majors. I will have a diploma from Ferris State University after getting 3 Comptia certifications. I will then have a bachelors in Computer Information and Technology with a minor in Computer Networking.
