About Georgian Morgan-Clarke:

I am Georgian Morgan-Clarke, I have been in the culinary or food field for the past 12 years. I am a Jamaica national who is desirous of expanding my culinary skills internationally. The position of food service supervisor will assist me with the platform to gain international experience in this field in preparation for this I have attended two international courses in USA and Canada. 

In supervision, I have demonstrated competencies in administrating, teaching, coaching, mentoring, planning, organizing, implementing, and directing staff and/or culinary trainees. 

My role and responsibility as a culinary supervisor and trainer include but are not limited to guaranteeing patron satisfaction, supervising and scheduling culinary activities, giving orders and maintaining account control costs, participating in the recruitment, and selection, and seeking the best training for culinary advancement, resolving patron criticisms, as well as internal conflicts, supervise and participates in the development of sanitation and hygiene practices, provide advice and oversee the standardization of recipes, menu preparation, portion, cost, and waste control.   

I am also involved in the management and supervision of national culinary competitions for trainees with local and international recipes. It must be noted also that the trainees were awarded gold and silver medals for their culinary entries. I was awarded the hardworking trainer in the National Lasco Teacher Award Region 7 (November 2021).

            In preparation for management and supervision of culinary services I have qualified myself with a bachelor’s and associate’s degree in hospitality and tourism management and a teaching diploma to allow me to train individuals, a level 4 TVET associate degree in assessment to assess individuals in the culinary field, other TVET clerical and administrative certifications that bolster my practice in culinary arts. Additionally, in preparation for the international experience, I have sought and completed two international culinary training courses in both Canada and the USA, I have also been granted a smart serve certificate to operate in Ontario, Canada. 

My personality lends itself to being emotionally intelligent, understanding strong leadership and communication within the working environment, and being mindful of the possible conflicts that may arise in the workplace among the different work relationships. I am task-oriented and often told by my managers that I am a committed and loyal worker that goes behind the call of duty to accomplish any task. I am a transformational leader which is able to inspire and motivate as I manage and supervise workers. I am a strong believer that people within the food industry must be pleasant and cordial as their personalities transcend in the quality of service delivery. 

In conclusion, my work experience, knowledge of the job, competencies, qualifications, and personality bring to the table the ideal applicant not only for this position but for the organization in which I will be operating.

I have gained useful experiences at Edwin Allen High, Institute of Business and Technical Skills, Old Harbour High, St. Hugh’s High, Tacius Golding High, and Foga Road High.

 

Education

I am pursuing my Master of Arts in Leadership in Technical Vocational Education Training and Work Force Development from the University of the West Indies. I have an Associate Degree in Hospitality, Entertainment, and Tourism Management, from Bethlehem Moravian College with outstanding achievement in Mathematics and a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Excelsior Community College. I have a Teaching Diploma from the College of Agriculture, Science, and Education.
