Gloria McMayoni

My name is Gloria McMayoni, I am a native French speaker and  fluent in French and English. I am currently a French teacher and Translator. I have a bachelor's degree in French and Communications and a Master's degree in French Literature. I am an extremely enthusiastic who enjoys working with others and catering to their work related needs. I pay very close attention to detail and I am an excellent communicator verbally and when writing.  I have worked with the Federation of Black Canadians for about three years. Through this remote position I am responsible for Translating the content on the companies website, translating memos and emails as well as drafting letters for the organization in French.

In this role I converted texts and audio recordings from English to French. I ensured translated content conveyed original meanings of texts. Prepared subtitles for videos and online presentations. Proofread translates texts for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracy. Followed up with team members and clients to ensure translation met their needs.

In this role my duties included managing classroom behavior, teaching according to a substitute lesson plan, creating reports on student progress.

In this role I planned French lessons, and instructed students. I assessed students' abilities. I Adapted lessons, created and graded assessments. Prepared report card comments and orchestrated parent -teacher interviews.

• Helping students in all grade levels in person or via zoom improve or learn how to speak, read and write in French. Prepare students for French oral exams and provincial tests and help students translate written assignments.

In this role, I was responsible for supporting first year university students learning. I taught an intensive French course, marked assignments, tests and exams, created lesson plans and supervised students while they wrote exams.
