Harman Aulakh

My name is Harmanpreet Kaur, and I have a well-rounded educational background in healthcare and academics. I completed my senior secondary education with a focus on medical studies. Additionally, I earned a diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion from Durham College, which provided me with a deeper understanding of health and wellness. To further specialize in the healthcare field, I completed my Personal Support Worker (PSW) studies at Epic College, Mississauga, Ontario, and hold an NACC (National Association of Career Colleges) certificate. Through my placement at Extendicare Burloak, a long-term care facility, I gained hands-on experience in providing quality care to residents. I also have experience as a home tutor, teaching children in various subjects. My diverse educational background has equipped me with valuable skills in both healthcare and education.

During my placement at Extendicare Burloak, a long-term care facility, I gained valuable hands-on experience providing compassionate care to elderly residents. I assisted with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, feeding, and mobility support. I also helped reposition bedridden residents to prevent pressure sores and supported them in engaging in social and recreational activities to enhance their well-being. My role required strong communication skills as I interacted with residents, their families, and the healthcare team to ensure personalized and effective care. This experience strengthened my ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with empathy, patience, and professionalism.
