In a previous role as a site supervisor in India, I encountered a significant change in project scope during a road construction project. Initially, our team had agreed on a specific design that included a particular slope to ensure proper drainage in the event of heavy rainfall. The project was well underway when government officials intervened and required us to alter the design. Although the change was unexpected and mid-way through construction, our upper management addressed the issue with the officials and provided us with a new design plan. As I was relatively junior at the time, I wasn't directly involved in the discussions but was tasked with implementing the new design. I adapted to the situation by focusing on the updated requirements and ensuring that the team understood the changes. This experience taught me the importance of flexibility and the value of learning from more experienced colleagues. It reinforced my understanding that changes in project scope, though challenging, are often an integral part of the process and can lead to better outcomes.

I completed my masters in Civil Engineering from University of Windsor.
