Holly Kyne

I am a second year University student who has moved to Vancouver. I have just under 2 years experience in retail and 8 months hospitality experience. I am pragmatic and friendly with a can-do attitude.

My most recent employer is Obriens wines. I worked here as a sales assistant from November 2022-March 2024. I was an entrusted member of staff with a key to the shop. Tasks included ; tending to customers, being knowledgeable about wine, beer and spirits, managing the cash, restocking, opening and closing the shop.

The summer of 2021 I was a member of bar staff in The Sandyford House. Here I waited tables, took orders, brought food to and from the tables and made sure customers had a good experience.

Just before Covid, I started working at the 5 star tasting menu restaurant Forest Avenue. My time here was short lived due to covid however I developed important skills which I carry with me today. For example, working in a fast paced environment can be stressful so it is important to stay relaxed and make the customers your no.1 priority. Here I learned to work well with a team and to be patient.

I am currently a second year University student, studying a BSc in Economics & Politics with International Relations. I currently am upholding a 2:1 and plan to graduate in 2026.
