Clinical Key Roles:
- Runs a dedicated weekly nurse specialist clinic for BMT-GVHD patients.

- Autonomous Clinical/Direct Care
- Specialist Nurses see patients autonomously in a clinic run concurrently with the Consultant led clinic.
- General Nurse Specialist clinic: can accommodate any transplanted case as per consultant referrals.
- GVHD Nurse Specialist Clinic: dedicated only to patients with acute and chronic GVHD including patients on ECP program.
- Patient care:
- Coordinates and promotes the clinical activities of adult autologous and allogeneic HSC transplantation, and other cellular therapies.
- Schedule patient appointments with referring physicians, obtaining necessary demographic and medical information.
- Provide written notification of appointment to both patient and referring physician.
- Obtain medical and social histories.
- Conduct donor searches and interpret Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) testing results for recipients and donors including presence of recipient HLA antibodies. With the HLA staff and medical team, help identify the best donors for patients.
- Schedule and coordinate pre-treatment testing of potential HSCT/cellular therapy candidates and/or donors. Provide written notification of testing schedule to patient/caregiver.
- Conduct pre-treatment evaluation of donors with the provider and educate regarding collection methods.
- Prepare and analyze pre-treatment clinical data and collaborate with other medical personnel in preparation of patients and families for transplantation and cellular therapies. 8. Educate patients and families/caregivers and donors regarding all aspects of transplantation/cellular therapy and serve as their advocate.
- Contribute to the collaborative development of the weekly transplant admission schedule, taking into account each patient’s priority status as well as the availability of the Operating Rooms, Infusion Center, Radiation Oncology, Cell Processing Laboratory, adult/pediatric nursing units and medical staff.
- Participate in the HSCT patient care conferences, working closely with the outpatient/inpatient medical, nursing and support staff personnel.
- Provide telephone consultation and follow-up support to patients and their families.
- Leadership and Collaborative Practice
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship for SCT coordinators and newly appointed team members.
- Act as a role model for junior staff in the department.
- Participate and contribute to regular nurse specialist forum meetings.
- Share examples of good practice and suggest recommendations to promote the highest standards of care.
- Improving Quality and Developing Practice
- Collaborate in the development and update of protocols and guidelines for the Clinical Program SOP Manual.
- Contribute to the development of quality improvement projects.
- Responsible for ongoing monitoring and data collection through internal audits to meet the identified KPIs.
- Generate a quality assurance database on a quarterly basis.
- Attend weekly quality and internal audit meetings and be involved in the preparation of any internal or external accreditation program.

- Maintain knowledge of current practices in transplantation/cellular therapy, oncology and hematology, including changes in SOPs, FACT standards (Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy), workflows, guidelines, etc
- Participate in local, regional and national conferences on HSC transplantation or cellular therapies.
- Attendance at institutional and external educational webinars and conferences.
- Ongoing regular in-service education on the care management of stem cell transplants.
- Organizing quarterly stem cell transplant workshops for nurses.
Research and Data Management
- Collect data as appropriate and completes paper or electronic forms for the involved parties (Unit Database, local registries SBMTR, international registries EBMT, CIBMTR, REDCAP)
- Supervise and review data collected by the data entry nurse and validate it.
- Publications as PI, co-author, and corresponding author.
- Peer review in international scholarly journals.
Education
- Masters in Healthcare Administration (MHA) Saudi Electronic University 2021.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Makassed College of Nursing and Health Sciences 2008.
- Washington Registered Nurse License.
- CNO (College of Nurses in Ontario) license.
- Saudi Nurse Specialist License.
- Lebanese license to handle the nursing profession.
