• Perform technical assessments while staffing the Environmental Health Contact Centre - responding to inquiries over the phone and through email.
• Provide consultative services and direction to clients on Environmental Health programs and health hazards in the community, including various Acts, Regulations, Guidelines and municipal by-laws.
• Use professional and technical skills to investigate health hazards, conduct risk assessments and discuss compliance in various programs such as: food safety, communicable disease investigation and control, infection control, health hazards and rabies investigation.
• Assisted IPAC team with CD investigation follow-up - interpreting lab results and providing timely follow-up with clients while adhering to confidentiality standards.

• Conducted routine field inspections in program areas of: food, recreational water, childcare and PSS -devised a checklist for business owners to help them navigate the legal requirements for Covid-19 and routinely spent extra time with operators keeping them up-to-date on the latest requirements. 
• Navigated difficult situations over the phone with members of the public and business operators on the environmental health line- practiced empathy and validation to help diffuse emotionally heightened conversations. • Routinely researched and interpreted provincial legislation and frameworks which facilitated efficiency while communicating with operators and the public.
