Jane Cheong

I have recently graduated from Simon Fraser University, with Bachelor of Science in Data Science. From my education, I have gained strong programming knowledge, analytical and software technology skills. I have a solid foundation in SQL, R, Python, C and C++. Moreover, I am comfortable with other software, such as MS Power BI, MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

Glentel Project

• Worked in a team of five on building three pages of dashboard that analyze employee retention through Microsoft Power BI
• Integrated survival analysis model into the dashboard and shared key findings that generated through Power BI towards Glentel
• Created plots on trends of employee turnover, which enable users to visualize a high level workforce overview of their employee data

UFO sightings Global Cluster Project

• Cleaned dataset containing raw data, by dropping irrational observations and removing unnecessary columns with Pandas
• Built K-Means cluster through the use of Scikit-learn K-Means cluster library, which resulted in the identification of multiple clusters on the location of UFO sightings
• Created map with circular markets for each cluster through the use of Folium library, that resulted in creation of a professional and concise visual representation of K-Means cluster

Borealis AI

• Attended a two-month remote mentorship program and worked on a project aimed at using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to help the community
• Had great opportunity to collaborate and build connections with Borealis AI Machine Learning Researchers, Engineers, and Product Managers
• Proposed a problem on an increase in cases of Covid-19 in the world and used Machine Learning models to predict the future cases in the next 7 days

Islands Project 

• Designed our own research study about the correlation between age of Islanders and duration it takes for them to play a memory game
• Collected and recorded data on islanders using MS Excel
• Used R programming language to create plot and summary tables for variables to analyze data
