Good Afternoon,

  I am a carpenter currently making custom solid wood furniture. My current job is piece work and tends to have slow times and am looking for something hourly and more reliable.

Attached is my resume as well as some pictures of my work, both job related and the home projects that I have done as a hobby for 20 years or so. You will notice from my resume I have only been professionally woodworking for the past 3 years and before that most of my jobs were in the construction layout and engineering support field before that.  Feel free to read the whole thing but after the Iirntree custom furniture job I have currently the biggest translatable skill would be all the mechanical, electrical, foundation and floor plans I was used to sorting through and creating make most woodworking plans seem very simple.

The last three years building professionally has made me quite proficient in most woodworking tools, especially the ones I use every day such as the table and mitre saw, nail gun, orbital sander, drill press and router.  Most of the joinery I do every day are butt and mitre joints but I have a little experience doing dado slots,  rail and stile as well as ribbit joints. Working for piecework has also gotten me in the best shape of my life and taught me lessons in efficiency that I would never even thought of at an hourly job because the only way to get a "raise" is to work better and faster in the same amount of time.

I went into my current job when my child was born and I was finding with the engineering jobs you were always working and at the mercy of construction schedules so I never actually was home when he was up.  I enjoy the new  work a lot more and it has given me the flexibility to be around when I need to so the only deal breaker on my end would be if I can't be home weeknights between 5-8pm.

Other than that I am ready to work hard for you given the opportunity.
