Joe Evans

I am a keen, hard-working young man, having just arrived in Canada and I am looking for a job that I can sink my teeth into. I have extensive experience in customer service roles, the food industry and tourism. My latest and longest job role has been as a River Tour Guide in the Cambridge, UK punting industry. This role has required me to take responsibility of the health and safety of large groups of people from all over the world whilst explaining the history of Cambridge from a boat propelled by myself. This has given me extensive skills in customer interaction, particularly with people from various different international backgrounds, and operating in high-stress situations. It is also a very physically strenuous job, meaning I am experienced in, and in fact enjoy, work that is physically demanding.

I also have a 2:1 degree in BSc Economics from the University of Nottingham, UK.

• August 2022 - February 2023 - River Tour Guide at Let’s Go Punting. Duties include:
  - maintain extensive knowledge of Cambridge’s history and ability to form an entertaining tour from this. 
  - responsibility for health and safety of guests.                                  
  - welcoming and entertaining guests from all over the world.
• April 2018 - August 2022 - River Tour Guide at Scudamore’s Punting Company. 
  - same tour duties as more recent job at Let’s Go Punting. 
  - selling tickets to tourists in Cambridge at street level. 
  - improving sales averages consistently over my time in the role, both in terms of average sale price and quantity of sales.
• October 2017 - December 2017 - Waiter at Tamburlaine Hotel, Cambridge. 
  - serving and welcoming guests in one of Cambridge’s most professional and upmarket hotels. 
  - maintaining cleanliness of large professional kitchen.
• September 2015 - October 2017 - Retail Assistant at Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Cambridge. 
  - customer service and sales advice.  
  - knowledge of products for sale and ability to tailor service to the needs of the individual. 
  - providing assistance to customers with difficulties with mobility and communication.
   

I have a 2:1 degree in BSc Economics from the University of Nottingham, UK where I studied for three years. As one of the top universities for Economics in the UK, I also had to achieve grades for admission. My A level results were A*AA in Economics, History and Maths respectively.
