Highly proactive and strategic Security engineer with over 8 years of experience designing and deploying security tools and technologies, such as F5 WAF, Imperva Incapsula and Cloudflare. Holding a bachelor’s degree in computer science, an advanced diploma in Computer System Technology, and a CISSP certification allows me to stay current with industry trends and standards. Installing and configuring security solutions by implementing processes and practices that help companies increase their security posture and mitigate risk. I have worked for more than ten years in Cybersecurity Industry across Latin America countries such as Venezuela, Colombia, and Chile. I have worked as a Security engineer giving service support from level 1 to level 3 with technologies such as F5, Palo Alto, Imperva, Cloudflare, Arbor, and Entrust Identity Guard. I led a team of five members, where I was the last escalation point between the customer and the vendor. Our customers were in the Banking, Retail, Mining, Health, and Governance sector, which allowed having a broader knowledge of how to keep their network protected.
When I worked as a Security Engineer for Neosecure, I designed security baselines for F5 Networks to increase the security level of the WAF Platform. For example, I implemented and configured ASM security policies, iRules, DoS Mitigation, API Protection, and Bot Detection. Also, I deployed a cross-solution between Cloudflare and Imperva Incapsula with DDoS Protection in the security perimeter with Arbor Netscout solution. As a result of these deployments, I was able to protect my client's data and IT systems against cybersecurity attacks.
Furthermore, my expertise helped me work for clients in the cybersecurity field with minimal supervision, which allowed me to recommend the best security solution to apply in the networking perimeter. For example, I deployed F5 proxy load balancers, WAF and DNS solutions in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. Also, I kept updating the F5 platform by executing more than 100+ software version upgrades across 18 customers between 2020 and 2021.
