About Josie Benteau:

Please accept my application. Born and raised in Nova Scotia, I am a three-time MSVU alumna, most recently having graduated with a Master of Education in Literacy Education. My excellent research, organizational and writing skills are beneficial transferable skills.

While working as a teacher for the Halifax Centre for Education for the past five and a half years, I ensured that detailed oral and written feedback was provided on a regular basis to over one hundred diverse students, along with their parents/guardians, each school year. I developed most of my teaching material from scratch through conducting research and subsequently writing mini-lessons and assignments; therefore, I am well-versed in preparing written communication (reports, presentations, data tracking, etc.) and in communicating efficiently with individuals of various ages. I have excellent organizational, planning and time management skills, developed through experience planning for varied lessons tailored to specific grade levels and individuals on a daily basis and through providing feedback regularly to students and parents/guardians. These skills would allow me to easily transition back into an office work environment.

My goal is now to move back into an office work environment as I prefer working with adults, enjoy focused work and communicating information in written and oral form, and take pride in maintaining organization. I take initiative by teaching myself how to use new programs and tools, just as I have taught myself new subject material and initiatives over the years.

I am ready to dedicate myself to a new position. Thank you so much for your time. I hope to hear from you.

   -Josie Benteau
