About Krishna Advait Sripada:

Hello! I'm Krishna Advait Sripada, a second-year Computer Engineering student at the University of Toronto. I'm on track to graduate in June 2026, and I'm currently pursuing a double minor in Engineering Business and Artificial Intelligence Engineering. I'm also enrolled in the Professional Experience Year (PEY) Co-Op program at my university.

I have a strong background in several programming languages, including C, C++, Java, HTML, MATLAB, Verilog HDL, and ARM Assembly. Additionally, I've developed skills in project management, problem-solving, leadership, teamwork, and communication, which I've honed through my various projects.

For example, I worked on a large-scale GIS software application using C++, collaborating with a team and utilizing StreetsDatabase API, OSMDatabase API, Graph Data Structures & Algorithms, and Unit Testing concepts. I've also developed a bouncing box animation using Verilog HDL, a fully functional Reversi board game using C, and a mosquito detector device using C++ and Arduino.

I'm eager to continue expanding my skills and applying them to new challenges. Thank you for considering me for this opportunity!

Experience

UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO ROBOTICS ASSOCIATION (Autonomous Rover Team) Toronto, ON
General Member, Robot Operating System (Software) Sub-Team                                                      Sept 2022 - Present

  • Acquired training on the basics and essentials of Linux, ROS, Git, Github, Rover components, TurtleSim, Publishers, Subscribers, and understanding the Caffeine (robot) pipeline.
  • Resolving issues of incorrect ramp identification as obstacles by the robot utilizing Gazebo (ROS), leveraging RVIZ for route and obstacle visualization.
  • Collaborating with various sub-teams, such as Computer Vision, Embedded, and Mechanical, to enhance the team's design and performance for the upcoming Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition 2023.

Geographic Information System (GIS) software application (using C++)                                        Jan 2023 - Present

  • Collaborating on a large-scale group project leveraging Git, StreetsDatabase API, OSMDatabase API, Graph Data Structures & Algorithms, and Unit Testing concepts, projected to be completed by April 2023.
  • Building a Graphical User Interface (GUI), similar to Google Maps, with navigation features, to visualize and solve travel and optimization challenges in maps of any city of the world.
  • Developing code employing the C++ STL library to access data structures, the EZGL & GTK libraries to create graphics, and Libcurl for data transfer from the web.

Artificial Intelligence - Reversi                                                                                                                           April 2022

  • Wrote C programming language code to create a fully functional Reversi board game for up to 2 players.

Developed code to establish input and verify the legality of moves in the game, and expanded upon this to create a program that plays against a human opponent.

Mosquito Detector | MakeUofT Makeathon 2023                                                                                               Feb 2023

  • Developed a device employing Arduino UNO to play unique 8-bit melodies via a digital buzzer for four distinct ranges of distance, facilitated by an ultrasonic sensor.
  • Utilized C++ to program the Arduino for playing specific note frequencies and their corresponding durations in the songs, adapting to instantaneous variations in Ultrasonic sensor readings.

Digital Systems Projects (using Verilog HDL)                                                                                   Sept 2022 - Dec 2022

  • Designed and implemented a circuit utilizing an FGPA with a VGA adapter module to produce a bouncing box animation.
  • Programmed a morse code interpreter utilizing DE1-SoC board switches, implemented through the use of counters and registers.
  • Developed and integrated a Hex Decoder module to interface with the Hex Display on the DE1-SoC board.
