Product Engineer, 05/2022- Present

Gan Systems Incorporated - Canada

 

  1. Product engineering lead that manages maverick lots on top volume products by providing detailed analysis and disposition that will ensure product quality, yield, and reliability.
  2. Lead various yield improvement projects in Wafer Sort and Final Test in top volume products by deploying data analysis tool to evaluate process, test limits, testing method, and defined outlier screening method.
  3. Key member of cross functional team related projects for new product releases responsible for the evaluation of the product design, fab processes, and test correlations and ensuring that the product’s best performance 
  4. Spearheaded device information guide which contains failure mode and record of containment and disposition historical yield issues encountered in wafer sort and final test. This project improved the hold cycle time significantly 
  5. Initiates and continuously manage the definition of SYL/SBL among the production released products.

 

 

Test Engineering Specialist, 02/2020-04/2022

  1. Collaborates with the design and test hardware engineering team in defining the test plan and methods to use in automated production testing.
  2. Develop and release more than 10 production test software from scratch for various products using Python as the main programming language, Raspberry Pi as the main CPU, tester instruments such as programmable supply and Data acquisition – ADC and DAC and tester with CAN bus system; Light and Temperature Sensor; UART, SPI and I2C communication.
  3. Manages and creates test program and test plan to automate software quality testing for products software to ensure correct functionality.
  4. Create and standardized production tester user interface using Tkinter python module which ensures user-friendly GUI and its features consistent to all production testers.
  5. Systematize all test software to utilize Gitlab as repository of all test documents, logs, test configurations, test limits and test programs

 

Manufacturing Engineering Specialist, 05/2017- 02/2020

JCA Electronics - Canada

 

  1. Develop New Product Release process and establish them to new ERP system - Epicor
  2. Spearheaded the implementation of various lean metrics such as availability and test yield which aim to track and improve the efficiency and utilization of various equipment used in production.
  3. Improved the manufacturing hours estimating tool with a more accurate reference per production operation and revised to fit the requirement of Sales and the new ERP system - Epicor.
  4. Created the development of various test jigs and test procedures on harness and control panel products. These tasks had created significant improvement on test time, quality, and efficiency. 
  5. Developed various automated test programs (200+) for harnesses and control panel assemblies using CIRRIS and DYNALAB test platforms.

ON Semiconductor Philippines

 

  1. Recognized as Employee of the Quarter in Quality Category for establishing a tool that will statistically analyze setup shift variation on regulator device with trimming parameter which determines test setup integrity in Wafer Sort. The system improved the quality of the setup and improved the setup efficiency metrics by 40%
  2. Received Spark of Brilliance award by resolving historical yield issue of products on a certain automotive product which improves its final test yield from 80% to 95%.
  3. Significantly improved the hold metric and yield performance of various automotive devices in wafer sort test area.
  4. Spearheaded continuous improvement projects on products and production testing processes to improve products’ production testing quality, equipment utilization and efficiency
  5. Managed the investigation and resolution on non-conforming materials as defined by the quality standards set by the company
  6. Managed and mentored three test product engineers in data analysis and root cause investigation

 

Test Product Engineer, 02/2013 – 10/2015

Maxim Integrated Philippines

 

  1. Collaborated with product engineering and test development engineering to resolve frequently occurring test yield issues. 
  2. Increased products’ final test yield by 10% (equivalent to 20k USD) by resolving over rejection related to Level Shift testing.
  3. Improved products’ final test yield by 15% (equivalent to 35k USD) by improving accuracy measurement of Pre-reference offset voltage test.
  4. Established the Enhanced First Level Verification System, a reporting system that guides test technician in investigating test related issues encountered in Final test. This system significantly increased the efficiency of the technician in finding the root cause by 50% and improved the quality of root cause reporting.
  5. Established the Collaborative Device Information Guide. This is a database that contains all the historical known setup issues that guides the technician to troubleshoot the final test related issues. The system improved the technician efficiency by 75% and significantly improve the OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) by 30%.
  6. Subject matter expert for the following courses: MonteCarlo Analysis, Basic Electronics for Final Test Technicians, and Wafer Pattern Analysis. These courses are offered to Test Product Technician with aim to improve their technical skills.
