Mahin Ar-Rahman

Hello! I'm Mahin, a student McGill University pursuing a Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering. Being granted the most prestigious scholarship available for international students at McGill, I moved to Canada from Bangladesh to further my education as an engineer and develop the skills to follow my interests and passion for automobiles, aerospace and consumer electronics. I come from a family of engineers, so it's hard not to pick up these interests!

With co-op experiences of over 20 months at a manufacturing plant and a high-tech medical device start-up, I am now ready for the next stage of growth in my career. I have always been inspired by what humans can do, especially when they come together to overcome insurmountable challenges. I mean, we sent a man to the moon, quite literally! Achieving miracles like these is what inspires me to do what I do, to put my passions to work to do incredible things and help make the world a better place, or at least do my part in this noble mission for the betterment of society.

However, it's not always business and no play, as I have a few hobbies that I vigorously pursue as well during my spare time (whenever I get any in engineering). I love football, and am as much of a Culer as it gets. I am also a huge gearhead and tech dork, who enjoys gaming during breaks. Cameras are cool, and shooting landscapes / nightskies are my jam. The milky way background in this page was shot by none other than yours truly, while hiking at the Mont Megantic national park in Quebec. As a quick summary, I have experience working in a manufacturing facility, aircraft maintenance shop floor, FSAE and drone design teams as well as an agile MedTech start-up environment involved in R&D and product design. I am competent in technical design using CAD, rapid prototyping with 3D printing, FEA and FMEA, system modelling, controller design, materials selection, developing customer-supplier relations, asset documentation, project management and interdisciplinary collaboration. I am capable of quick learning, critical analysis and devising technical solutions. Currently, I am seeking exciting opportunities in incredible teams for the deal of a lifetime, to offer my skills and abilities in exchange for personal growth and gratification of doing extraordinary work.
