Currently I am employed within the City of Calgary as a Veterinary Assistant. I am responsible for the welfare and husbandry of the animals within the facility. Some of my duties include reporting medical concerns to an RVT or DVM, maintaining disease control, vaccinating, and booking impounded animals on intake, assisting citizens with identifying their lost pets, and assisting the behavior team with adoption showings. At animal services we experience a large volume of aggressive and abandoned animals, where my exemplary animal handling skills have been an asset to my position. I pride myself on showing compassion and nurturing towards the animals at the shelter while also maintaining safety for myself and my coworkers.
